Ev Christensen had a great week at the beach in NC with her immediate family, plus her sibs and their children and grandchildren. Sixty in all! The highlight of the week was hearing the news that her daughter and son-in-law are expecting Ev’s first grandbaby at Christmas!


Diane Kress Hower had a very busy summer. She had 2 big highlights. One having her photograph chosen for the Colorado National Monument 2012 Calendar…

and two, being awarded a grant to attend the Highlights Foundation Writers and Illustrators Conference at Chautauqua Institution in New York.  Here Diane is with her mentor, author Candace Fleming.  (Diane is on the right.)

Roger Tory Peterson is one of Diane’s most admired photographers and wildlife artists. This is an oil painting, self portrait of him at his museum from a field trip during the conference.
